DEVILS HOCKEY
Our Online Registration is now open on the Devils Website!  For you to prepare, important information for our 24-25 Season is below.
Please read important Registration Information before registering your child.

Why Choose DEVILS HOCKEY for your child?
The Devils Hockey Program is a program for those looking to provide their child a strong, family atmosphere where players learn to grow both on and off ice.  Players become part of a team coached by passionate coaches, who strive to develop a love for the game, while developing life-long values such as sportsmanship, commitment, responsibility, self-discipline and respect for coaches and teammates.
We hope you will consider joining (or remaining in!) our program. We feel we offer a very strong program for your child to play this great sport of hockey.  Great friendships and long-lasting relationships contribute to the respected “family fostering” environment of the Devils.

In 2020, we introduced some changes in the way we field our top teams.  This was a necessary move which allowed us to better compete, but more importantly, ensure that we place all of our players on teams that best align with their talent and commitment level.  In addition, Devils Hockey is dedicated to continued growth, while providing an ultra-competitive program with a family oriented, town hockey “feel”.  We believe this is our competitive advantage and why we continue to retain and attract some of the best talent in Southeastern New England.  Devils Hockey is regarded as one of the strongest youth hockey programs in Massachusetts, positioned for long-term growth and success.

Devils Teams’ League Placements
Devils Hockey is able to offer hockey to players starting at the beginner level all the way through the highest “premier” levels for the advanced level of play.  Our top team in each 10U-14U level plays in the Premier Hockey League of New England and as we did in the 23-24 season, we anticipate our 2nd teams will play in the Premier Hockey League at the “elite” level.  (Please note that our 2nd level team placement in PHL will be determined on the level of talent of the selected teams). These teams are referred to as our Southeastern New England Devils. There is a higher expectation of players playing on the top teams in the Devils Program.  Games are played throughout New England and often both weekend days.  The compete level is higher and commitment to our team is expected both in practice and game attendance, as well as effort on the ice.  An added weekly skills will be included in our Premier and Elite Team schedules  for the 24-25 season and the pricing for our SENE teams are higher.
Our 3rd and 4th Devils Teams (Red and White Teams) provide a more “relaxed” but still professional level of environment and play.  Players are provided 2 weekly practices and a 26-28 game season. (Tournaments not included)   Our Red and White Teams play in the South Coast Hockey League, who’s games are primarily in the Rhode Island area.   The SKILLS are offered as an ADD ON for any Devils players on a lower level team at an additional added cost.

League placement of teams are determined following team finalization after tryouts and are based on how we see the level of play of our teams.

2024-2025 Season
Numbers for the new season indicate that we will roster the following teams for the 24-25 season: (4-5) 16/18U, (4) 14U, (4) 12U, (3-4) 10U and (3-4) 8U.  Please note that the 16/18U team level structure will be determined following tryouts. We are very pleased to see continuous and steady growth in our program, which allows us to be able to continue to provide your children with a great, family oriented, community based, competitive program.  Our players have enjoyed much success, with teams advancing at all levels to playoffs and State Tournaments! This speaks volumes to the success of what we have accomplished in the past 20 seasons.  We hope you will continue to support Devils Hockey.  Together we can continue to develop many fine young players into mature, responsible High School adults.

Intro of our new LADY DEVILS Program!
Yes!  For the 24-25 we are pleased to announce the absorption of the NESV Pioneers Girls Program!  Our Lady Devils will bring back some of the great past Pioneers coaches.   Communications, registrations, tryouts, tournaments etc. will all now be run and operated under the Devils Program.  Please stay tuned for more information to come, however mark your calendars for the tryout dates in March!

Evaluations
Devils Youth Hockey has put together an evaluation program intended to provide all players with equal opportunity to exhibit their hockey skills. It’s purpose is to evaluate a player's skating ability, hockey skills, hockey knowledge and commitment to teamwork.  Our goal is to place each player within a team that provides the best environment for improving their self-confidence and enjoyment of the sport of ice hockey.

We know you have many questions, so the below information is being provided to help you prepare for Devils’ registration and evaluations.

Premier Team Tryouts
Our Premier team tryouts are by “invitation” only, as our Premier Coaches have been observing players throughout the season and are generally familiar with the players in our league and throughout other leagues.  This does not mean however that your child cannot attend.  There is a 100.00 fee for the SENE Premier tryouts (50.00 for half season teams). You may register for the Premier tryouts on the Devils site.  Our Elite teams will not require a special tryout or the SENE tryout fee. This team will be selected by outside evaluation and coach input and observation at the Premier level tryout.
Our Devils teams do not require a tryout fee, but rather a 95.00 initial payment is required to attend the evaluations and this is applied to your full Devils tuition.  If a player does not wish to play for Devils after he has attended the evaluations, they forfeit the 95.00.  It is not refunded.

What’s included for the 2024-2025 Season?
Teams generally are provided 28-32 games per season, September – March, along with 2 weekly practices.  Premier Teams are charged a higher fee.  This does not include Tournaments.  Our 2nd Teams will now be playing in the Premier Hockey League of New England at the “Elite” level. (Team placement will be dependent on the skill level of those selected teams)
14U levels may be submitted as 2 “half season” teams or “full season” teams however the cost is the same.  Tuition for those 14U players moving on and making High School teams will be prorated at that time.
16U/18U teams are “half season” teams, provided 12-14 games and run September-November. Practices begin in August to prepare for a quick start to the short season.
Middle School Teams consist of 22-23 games per season.
Please note that all of the above is subject to change based on circumstances which may become, as the 24-25 season approaches.

Mite Development Programs
The 8U division follows the American Development Model (ADM), created by USA Hockey.  The 8U Developmental Teams (2nd (B) and 3rd (C) Teams) have approximately 20 cross ice games and 2 practices each week.  This program is focused on players new to hockey and those who may have only played 1-2 years.  Devils Hockey plans to have three U8 teams (A, B and C level).  We intend our 8UB and 8UC teams to play half ice in the South Coast Hockey League and our U8A level to play full ice in the SCHL League. This development system allows children to progress from the beginner program to more competitive league teams.  Devils Hockey reserves the right to place our teams in leagues which fit the development level we see at evaluations, so league determinations are not finalized until summer.

8U Pricing Information
  • Depending on which team an 8U player is assigned once evaluations are complete, the pricing is different.  All players will register as a 8U ($1145.00) and pricing will be adjusted following team assignments.
    8U A - $2095.00 ($95.00 due with registration)
    8U B, 8U C - $1145.00 ($95.00 due with registration)
  • 8U/10U players who have not played hockey prior do not need to attend an evaluation to participate, however players should still register early to be placed on a team.

Evaluation “Fee” Information
All participants are evaluated and placed on a Devils Hockey Team so therefore, we do not call this process a “tryout” or charge a “tryout fee”.  Your registration payment of $95.00 is your first payment for the season’s tuition.  If you decide that you do not wish your child to play for the Devils you will forfeit the $95.00 registration fee.  The $95.00 registration fee is refundable only if your child does not participate in any evaluation.
SENE Teams DO require a 100.00 tryout fee.  All 16U/18U Teams require a 50.00 tryout fee.

Roster Size:
The Devils Hockey Board of Directors is determined to keep the roster numbers reasonable on each team.  Our goal is to roster at least 3 teams at each level.  Our 18U/16U level will roster 4-5 half season teams. This allows for balanced teams where players receive equal ice time in a competitive environment that is appropriate for their skill level.

Full equipment must be worn. Players may be asked to return for an additional evaluation.
Teams and rosters will be determined based on age, participation numbers and evaluations and announced at the end of March/early April.

Middle School Hockey
Our Middle School teams participate in the Foxboro Sports Center Junior High School League and are offered approximately 22 games each season.  Tuition fees are for a game only season.  If a practice schedule is added, an additional fee will be assessed.  Middle School Teams are specific to towns and open to town residents only.  Placement on a team is not guaranteed.  We will do our best to place all, however this will depend on the number of players who register, and the levels being offered by the Foxboro Sports Center Middle School League.  No Evaluation is needed.  Players will be placed by Devils Hockey and players will be notified of placement in early April.  Refunds will be provided if a player is not placed on a Middle School team.  Separate jersey/socks are required for the Middle School Teams.

Uniforms
The program tuition does not include the Devils game uniforms. Uniforms consist of personalized home and away game jerseys, matching socks and a required reversible practice jersey.
Those new to the program will need to purchase a complete game uniform.  Cost for the uniform is charged separately.  Uniform information will be sent in a separate correspondence.

DEVILS Hockey requires a BLACK helmet and BLACK pants as a part of their uniform.  Please keep this in mind as you update your child’s equipment.  Helmet decals will be provided.

Goalies - Discounted Fees!
Due to an extreme goalie shortage across the state of Massachusetts/RI in recent years, goalie fees for our full-time goalies have been reduced to 750.00 for the 24-25 season.  In addition, a weekly goalie skills session is provided for all goalies by NESV Goalie Director Ryan Hatch and GDS Goalie Instructor, Jamie Regan who are both expected to return again along with our newest staff member, Matt Whitingham.

Goalie Evaluations
Devils Hockey offers a Goalie specific “evaluation” prior to our team evaluations being held.  Players are to attend one of our Instructional Goalie Sessions on Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm at the Village.  Players maybe then be invited by a coach, to an SENE Tryout based on these evaluations.  Players will be assigned an evaluation date with specific teams based on these evaluations and will be notified of dates/times of these team evals.  Please call to inquire about available times to attend a Devils Hockey Goalie clinic in the upcoming months.  Goalie evaluation fees are 50.00.  This fee is waived for our current Devils players.
